Hello
Hello to my writings and thoughts.
I'm starting this in hopes of writing more. I find that with AI, I don't do enough writing and it can cause me to think less clearly. When I do write, I always come out clear eyed about a topic becuase it really helps me cut through the bullshit of my own thinking. AI is awful at this, because it just gives me what I already think. It does not challenge me, make me follow points and more. This is my hope to change this. I hope I can keep it up.
I have a lot of interests that I'll write about. It could be AI, politics/policy, technology, space, science, nostalgia, coffee and more. Or the interesection of any of these. I'm not going to limit it.
Who am I?
First and foremost, I'm a family man. I have two sons and an awesome wife. Providing, caring and being there for my family is my number one priority in life and always will be.
I've recently started getting into running and have run two half-marathons as of this writing. Being healthy is my way of taking care of my family -- they need me at my best and this means taking time to go running.
Who do I think I am
Curious. That's how I think about myself most often. I'm looking to understand the world around me at the most fundamental level. I often have an internal monologue that gives me a tasks of things to research and figure out (chatting with AI really has given this curiosity a direct outlet).
My work
All of my career to date has been at Duda (The website platform for agencies). It's a good place to work. The people are good, the product space is fairly intersting (and super competative). Being there has sparked my interest in:
- Developers: I've primarily lead our APIs, integration paths and technical tools.
- The Web: We build websites on the open web and without it, I would not have a job.
- Partnerships: I've owned our App Store since day #1.
- SEO/Discovery on the web: I've followed the space for years and been Duda's in house expert for years. The new shift to AEO/GEO is facinating and a real shift, which has been a blessing.
I consider my self a strategic product/technical person. Sometimes I referr to my self as a technologist. I build Apps (Thank goodness for AI coding -- I can now just get shit done), I care about product details and implentations. I like to make sure that whatever is built is strategic enough to follow the core thesis/idea of a business.
Anyways
Thats a start. I wrote something about me, a little. I'll try and keep going.
